TA Targets came to me with a hat they had made years prior when the company was just getting started.

With the company growing and plans to expand into apparel, they wanted to update the original cap to better reflect where the company is today.

We started with their original design, I matched their brand color, upgraded the private labeling, and reworked the cap around one important change: removing the top button.

A common issue at shooting ranges is that the top button on a hat gets pressed into your head by over-ear hearing protection. We removed it to make the cap more comfortable on the range and solve a real problem for TA Targets' customers.

The goal was to create the ideal hat for the shooting range, one their customers would reach for time and time again.

I was the lead designer and product developer on this project and worked closely with TA Targets from the original design through the finished cap.
